IDN: Israel has a separate Hebrew-script IDN ccTLD, .ישראל (xn--4dbrk0ce), open to the public since 22 November 2022. Labels take Hebrew letters, digits and hyphens and must include at least one Hebrew letter; Latin letters, or a mix of Hebrew and Latin, are not possible.

Registrations under .il are made at the third level. ISOC-IL lists .co.il and .org.il as open to the general public through an accredited registrar, and .net.il, .ac.il, .muni.il and .k12.il as restricted to accredited or public institutions, with .k12.il registered directly by ISOC-IL. There is no registration directly under .il itself. Since 1 November 2016 ISOC-IL no longer accepts registry-direct applications for any of them, so every registration goes through an accredited registrar.
